ISB plans for transition and transformation ...
The ISB, currently responsible for setting information standards for the NHS and adult social care in England, will cease to exist from 01 October 2013. As required by legislative changes that came into effect with the Health and Social Care Act 2012, the Informatics Services Commissioning Group (ISCG) will make the decisions on which information standards are to be published and direct or mandate collections.
More information will be posted here as decisions are made.
The current arrangements

Chairman
The chairman of ISB is appointed by the Department of Health and represents one of the key communities involved in health informatics. The current chairman is Professor Martin Severs, OBE FRCP FFPHM.

As well as being a practising Consultant Geriatrician, Professor Severs is the Associate Dean in Clinical Practice at the University of Portsmouth. He has over 20 years of experience in health informatics and has recently stepped down as the chairman of the IHTSDO Management Board in order to participate in the UK government's review of information governance, being led by Dame Fiona Caldicott.
