This standard defines how adverse drug reactions should be reported electronically to the MHRA. Evidence shows that this will improve reporting and so improve pharmacovigilance. The standard is based upon the ICH E2B international data standard. It’s one of the first information standards to use SNOMED CT and dm+d (the dictionary of medicines and devices) to ensure that the same information can be sent across health and care.
