The Information Standards Board for Health and Social Care has approved the publication of ISB 1521 Cancer Outcomes and Services Dataset (COSD).

COSD is a compiled dataset which provides the standard for secondary uses information required to support implementation and monitoring of Improving Outcomes: a Strategy for Cancer.

It replaces the previous National Cancer Dataset as the new national standard for reporting cancer in the NHS in England. It incorporates a revised generic Cancer Registration Dataset (CRDS) and additional clinical and pathology site specific data items relevant to different tumour types.
