New Standard - ISB 0052 dm+d
The ISB has approved the use of dm+d as a dictionary for medicines licensed in the UK. This means that electronic systems that exchange or share information about medicines relating directly to a patient’s care must adhere to the Standard by using dm+d identifiers and descriptions when transferring information.
The ISB has approved the use of dm+d. This information standard is a dictionary for medicines licensed in the UK and uses the the dm+d product. The scope of the standard is limited to medicines only and within England. Medical devices are currently excluded from the standard.
The standard’s primary purpose is to support interoperability. Therefore electronic systems that exchange or share information about medicines relating directly to a patient’s care must adhere to the standard by using dm+d identifiers and descriptions when transferring information.
